Empowering Refugee Women through Beekeeping
Empowering refugee women through beekeeping in Northern Uganda has emerged as a sustainable, climate-smart initiative that provides economic independence, strengthens food security, and fosters peaceful coexistence with host communities. We are investing in transforming lives in Palabek refugee settlement camps in Lamwo District by equipping refugee women with beekeeping techniques, including hive management, honey harvesting, and processing and trading in honey products for income generation. This often includes financial literacy training and entrepreneurship skills, enabling women to run their own businesses and also establish themselves as entrepreneurs and leaders in their communities.
